Pet of the Week: Coco
This week’s Red Hills Pet of the Week, Coco, has had a rough go of things lately and really could use a patient, loving home to turn his life around.
For the second time this months, this 6-year-old Shih Tzu mix is back at Rest Easy My Friend Canine Rescue and Sanctuary.
Coco first came to Rest Easy when his owner passed away. He was very devoted to his owner and could definitely be considered a one woman dog.
Grief may have made Coco a little grumpy. He’s not overly fond of men and he’s not a fan of small children. However, rescue owner Carolyn Sears said he has not been aggressive while at the rescue.
“I do know that when I went to pick him up, he came out the door barking and I thought he would grab a pant let,” Carolyn explained. “But he didn’t.”
She said once she was inside the home, Coco settled down and let her pet him.
After around a week at the rescue, Coco was adopted. But that situation was short lived. Coco didn’t like the cats in the home and was returned to the rescue.
Caroline said since he’s been back at the rescue, Coco has not gone after the two resident cat there. However, he has shown some interest in the female Pomeranians, even though he’s already been neutered.
With Coco’s life turned upside down recently, it’s understandable that he’s a little leery of new people. It wouldn’t take long in a patient, loving home for Coco to come around and let his sweet side emerge.
