Results of Directed Enforcement Super Bowl Weekend
Super Bowl weekend, Campbell County law enforcement teamed up to crack down on impaired driving.
According to a release from the Wyoming Department of Transportation, the directed patrol efforts resulted in four DUI arrests over three days. In total, area law enforcement made 207 traffic stops, issued 94 warnings, 43 speeding tickets, three seat belt citations and 23 other citations.
Last weekend’s multi-agency effort was the second of six planned directed patrol events this year in Campbell County. The next operation is scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
The operation utilizes personnel from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Gillette, Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office with the sole purpose of reducing fatal crashes in the area with more enforcement focused on impaired driving and seat belt laws.
