Brinden Longest, 28, is charged with felony aggravated assault and battery for allegedly stabbing a 46-year-old male multiple times in the hand, arm, and abdomen on Dec. 5.
Longest and the male had been living together on Stanley Avenue for a week when they became involved in a heated, verbal argument, according to Police Detective Jeremiah Wagner.
Around 2 a.m., Longest asked the 46-year-old male to leave, but the 46-year-old initiated a physical altercation, punching Longest repeatedly.
Wagner said that Longest grabbed a knife and stabbed the 46-year-old male in the arm first, before proceeding to stab him again in the hand and abdomen.
The 46-year-old male suffered a lung injury, and was treated by responding police officers until EMS arrived.
Officers placed Longest under arrest.
Felony aggravated assault and battery is punishable by imprisonment for not more than 10 years.
