Pet of the Week: Jackson
Meet Jackson, a beautiful cat who was rescued from Metro Animal Services in Casper three months ago. Sadly, this kitty was on the euthanasia list before Betsy Nowack came to his rescue.
Nowack is the owner of There’s No Place Like Home No Kill Animal Rescue. With all of the animals she’s rescued since 2013, Nowack says Jackson is one of her favorites.
Since he came from Metro, Jackson’s past is a mystery. He’s around three years old, neutered, and up-to-date on all his shots.
“He is so sweet,” Nowack said with a smile. “He smacks you from a perch as you walk by to make sure you stop and say ‘Hi’ and give him loves and treats.”
Jackson is gentle and gets along well with the other cats at the rescue. He loves to pet and would be a great addition to any family.
There’s never a dull moment at the rescue. In addition to Jackson, There’s No Place Like Home has recently saved a “momma” cat and her five kittens and a senior dog for hospice care. So, needless to say, Nowack and her volunteers are always coming up with unique ways to raise funds for their noble cause.
Check their Facebook page for gift baskets that are being auctioned off. Tis the season, and they’re a great idea for holiday gift giving. There’s No Place Like Home also has a bake sale scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8, at CBH CO-OP, formerly Farmers’ Co-op. Donations can be dropped off at McKinnon Flooring on Lakeway Road and monetary donations can be made at Red Hills Veterinary Hospital.
To meet Jackson or any of the other animals available for adoption at There’s No Place Like Home, check out their Facebook page and send them a message.
