Local Attorney Applies for Ward Three Vacancy

Nathan McLeland is the latest to throw his hat in the ring to vie for the City Council Seat vacated by Robin Kuntz last month.

That brings the number of total applicants to five. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 5 p.m.

McLeland currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Gillette College Advisory Board and also serves on the Campbell County Public Land Board. In his application, he stated he wants to help Gillette continue to be the great community he grew up in. Other than his time at the University of Wyoming, McLeland is a life-long resident of Gillette.

“Gillette simply provides opportunities other communities do not,” McLeland wrote in his application letter. “That is a big part of the reason I came back to Gillette after college and my wife and I have chosen to raise our family here.”

McLeland is currently a managing member at M & K Oil Company, LLC. He believes his knowledge of the oil and gas industry could be valuable to the city council.

The other four applicants are: Edward Sisti, DaNece Day, Tamby Clawson, and Thomas Murphy.

The current vacancy on the Gillette City Council is for Ward Three, which is highlighted above in green.
