This week’s Red Hills Pet of the Week comes to us from the Rest Easy my Friend Canine Rescue and Sanctuary.
Daisy is a “pom-a-poo,” Pomeranian and poodle mix, who came to the rescue in July after her family lost their home in a fire in Minnesota.
After the fire, the family moved to Colorado to stay with family. Along with additional family members in the home, there were just too many dogs in the blended family. That’s when they found Rest Easy and made arrangements to bring Daisy and two other small dogs to Wyoming.
“She’s a spitfire for a nine-year-old gal.” said rescue owner Carolyn Sears. “She loves to snuggle and likes to pretend she’s bigger than what she is.”
Daisy is a tiny dog, so small that she can’t open the doggy door at the rescue. For that reason, she is potty pad trained, but Sears said Daisy would do much better in the “potty department” with regular walks. Daisy only weighs between five to eight pounds.
Miss Daisy gets along well with dogs of all varieties of size and age, and even cats. She’s also good with kids, but her petite frame could make her a tripping hazard for toddlers.
Daisy is a sweetheart, who would be a great companion for anyone, whether they live in an apartment or a house.
Remember Denver and Breckenridge, they are still looking for a home.
