County Valuation comes to Over $4.4 Billion

(Gillette, Wyo.) Troy Clements presented the valuation, levies, and taxes report to the Campbell County Commission Tuesday.
The State Board of Equalization requires, by Aug. 10, all county assessors in the state to submit the report, which shows the total valuation for the county and breaks down the levy distribution throughout the county.
The commission had already approved the valuation. The commission only approved the report that was submitted to the state.
The total county valuation is $4.4 billion. Levying 12 mills, the county taxes that property at a total of $53.1 million.
Of those 12 mills, 11.202 mills go into the county operating general fund for a total of $49.6 million.
School districts levy another 26.5 mills, which is set by the state. On top of that is a mandatory 6 mills for the county school levies, bringing the total school taxes in Campbell County to $144 million.
The county also has a series of special district levies and taxes. This include the hospital district, cemetery district, wee and pest control, as well as water and sewer districts for Heritage Village, Rocky Point, and Wright. These come to a total of $17.4 million.
The grand total for all taxes levied in Campbell County is $266.4 million.
