(Gillette, Wyo.) Last night Associate Superintendent for Instructional Support Kirby Eisenhauer announced two new principals for the Campbell County School District.
“Both gentlemen were very well received by the committee,” said Eisenhauer. “We’re excited to have both of them.”
Brad Gregorich was chosen to fill the role of principal at Hillcrest Elementary in the fall.
“I had an opportunity during the interview process to tour the building, meet some teachers and students, and get a feel for what drives the positive professional culture at Hillcrest,” said Gregorich. “I can’t wait to begin working with teachers and take what I’ve learned during my time as a teacher and principal and collaborate with the folks at Hillcrest to continue to do what is best for student learning.”
He said his wife, who is also a teacher, grew up in Gillette so they’re both excited to continue their careers closer to family.
The position was left vacant last month when Brad Winter resigned to move back to his home state. This fall he’ll take over as principal at Franklin Elementary School in Boone, IA.
Gregorich is currently the acting principal at Coffeen Elementary in Sheridan.
John “Gib” Ostheimer will be the new principal at Thunder Basin High School in the fall. Taking the reins from Dennis Holmes who will move into the role of Associate Superintendent for Instructional Support.
“I’m very excited to become part of the Thunder Basin story, a story that will focus on the growth and success of our students,” said Ostheimer. “My goals center around how I can best serve the students and staff of Thunder Basin and the community of Gillette in order to help create one of the premier high schools in Wyoming.”
Ostheimer comes to Gillette from Natrona County School District where he is the current principal at Park Elementary. His professional background also includes working as an associate principal at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper.
The fall will bring a lot of change in the Administration at the Campbell County School District starting with the retirement of current Superintendent Boyd Brown, who has accepted the position of Superintendent of Laramie County School District #1 in Cheyenne.
The board approved Dr. Alex Ayers as the new superintendent and Kirby Eisenhauer will step into the Deputy Superintendent position. Other moves within the district include CCHS Principal Troy Zickefoose transitioning to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum after the retirement of Kelly Hornsby.
Earlier this month the board announced Chad Bourgeois, principal at Buffalo High School this year, will be the new principal at Campbell County High School.
And Melanie Sylte, who is currently the principal at John Paul II Catholic school will replace Conestoga Principal Steve Anderson, who’s also retiring this summer.
