Annexation Triggers a Redrawing of Voting Precincts

(Gillette, Wyo.) The Campbell County Commissioners are scheduled to sign a resolution tomorrow changing the voting precincts for residents of Antelope Valley and Crestview Estates for the 2018 election year.

Elections Clerk Kendra Anderson said anyone annexed into the City of Gillette will automatically go into precinct 1-27 and should have already received a letter notifying them of the change. There are around 150 residents from precinct 5-1 that were not annexed. The proposal from the county clerk’s office moves that small group of voters to precinct 24-01.

Anderson said the change will not affect where people vote since residence of that area already vote at the Cam-Plex, along with anyone residing within city limits. It will only change the name of the precinct.
