(Gillette, Wyo.) On Wednesday, the final preservation workshop will be conducted by the Campbell County Rockpile Museum and will focus primarily on books.
Books have been an integral part of society for thousands of years with some of the oldest examples dating back to around 3400 B.C.E.
The important text and stories found within the weathered pages of ancient books would be lost if not for someone’s efforts to preserve them. Certainly, a few residents within Campbell County have a few old books that are well worth the effort of preserving their contents too.
Knowing this, the Rockpile Museum is hosting a free workshop, limited to 30 seats with pre-registration required, to provide information on how to properly care for and store these books.
Hard cover or soft cover, the type of book does not matter. As seen with the document workshop several weeks ago, residents are encouraged to bring their home items to be discussed during the Q & A session.
The workshop begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, and lasts until 2:30 p.m.
