(Gillette, Wyo.) Absentee voting for the special election of the 0.25 Excise Tax, benefitting Gillette College and Energy Capital Economic Development, begins tomorrow, Sept. 22, at 8 a.m.
Absentee voting is provided for those who may be unavailable to cast their votes on the tax during the formal election in November, or for those who simply wish to vote early, that they may be accounted for, says Kendra Anderson, elections clerk of the election office.
During the absentee window, voting will not take place at the designated polling locations, but will instead be available on the first floor of the Campbell County Court House in the Elections Office from Sept. 22 through Nov. 6, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The formal election is still scheduled for Nov. 7, taking place at one of eight established polling locations set up across the county. Voting will be held between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Both the absentee and the formal election are only open to registered Campbell County residents. Voting registration is available at the Campbell County Elections Office and will also be available at the voter’s designated polling locations on Nov. 7.
