DVSA Training to be Held at Gillette College

(Gillette, Wyo.) The Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation will provide domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Core Rural Advocacy Training at Gillette College’s main building in room 155, starting at 5:00 p.m. on September 5.

The training will cover multiple topics over a four week course, including the history of violence against women, understanding the neurobiology of trauma, how to talk to victims, and more.

The course will repeat every Tuesday and Thursday

For those wanting to volunteer or work with any domestic violence and sexual assault, or DVSA, program such as GARF, the training is required.

Upon completion of the training, graduates will be fully qualified to work in any DVSA program in the State of Wyoming.

A $10 fee to cover the cost of materials and preregistration is required.

The training provides 32 POST and 2 PTSB CEUs.

The Gillette Abuse Refuge Foundation is a member of the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
