Vehicle Rollover at Local Storage Facility Leads To Arrest

(Gillette, Wyo.) Andria Showers, 22, was taken into custody by the Gillette Police Department last night around 2:00 a.m. after she reportedly rolled her vehicle over through a fence at Gillette Self Storage, while driving under the influence and causing over $20,000 of damage, Lt. Chuck Deaton said.

According to the sheriff’s report, officers were in the area of Warlow Drive and Commercial Drive when they noticed a barbed wire fence at Gillette Self Storage had sustained damage. When officers pulled over to inspect the damage, they found a 2012 Jeep Compass overturned inside the fence.

Officers ran to the vehicle, finding Showers trapped inside. Showers told officers that she was uninjured and was not the driver of the vehicle.

Showers also told police she was one of many passengers who had been in the vehicle at the time of the rollover.

Showers was extricated from the vehicle and, after complaining of neck pain, was transported to the emergency room.

According to Deaton, the Jeep had struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle at the storage, as well as three parked campers. All vehicles involved in the rollover sustained damage estimated to be around $1,000.00 each. The total reported damage is estimated at more than $20,000.00.

While at Campbell County Health, Showers told officers she had been the driver of the vehicle and had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

Upon her release from the hospital, Showers was arrested by officers for DUI and failing to maintain a single lane of travel.
