City Council Recognizes Utilities Employee for 25 Years of Service

(Gillette, Wyo.) Jill Belacky was recognized during the City Council meeting Tuesday evening for contributing 25 years of service to the city of Gillette.

The City Council stood in front of the dais, on level ground with Belacky, waiting to offer their praise and congratulations on her achievement.

Belecky first began her career in July, 1992, where she held a secretary position within the electrical service division for four years. She transferred to the print shop in city hall, holding a technician position for 11 years.

In 2007, Belacky became a senior administrative assistant within the administrative services department for eight years where she spent two of those years working near the office of then Gillette City Mayor Duane Evenson.

In March of 2014, Belecky returned to the City West building as an administrative assistant for the utilities department.

“Her career has really gone full circle within the city,” expressed Mike Cole, utilities director with the City of Gillette. Cole expressed his appreciation of Belacky’s unwavering kindness. Demonstrated by the way she always remembers birthdays, anniversaries and makes sure others are recognized for their actions, Cole said.

Belecky’s achievement was presented before a large crowd, who showed their genuine appreciation for an important community member with thunderous applause.
