(Gillette, Wyo.) According to the Gillette Police Department, officers responded to a domestic violence call around 8:00 p.m. Friday.

A 28-year-old female was involved in a domestic incident with her soon to be 32-year-old ex-husband, Robert Young. The woman was watching their children at his residence on Huntington Drive. Once Young returned to his home, the woman was preparing to leave, and she went back into the house to get some of their children’s belongings. Young grabbed her and pulled her inside and shut the door. He picked her up and carried her into the kitchen and held a butcher knife to his chest as he was trying to pull the woman. He told her that she was going to hurt him and he was holding her back and not letting her go. After a short period, he later fled the area and she was able to get away.

“Young followed her to her apartment and was pounding on the door trying to get into her apartment,” Sgt. Eric Dearcorn told County 17.

Officers located Young, he was hiding in a tree on Ventura Ave. Officers were able to take him into custody and officers noted that there was a small cut on his chest where he pushed the knife into his chest. Young was charged with felony felonious restraint.
