(Gillette, Wyo.) A new novel “The Hike” is a real page-turner with zombie-like creatures that is available in paperback and electronic form at Amazon. Zombies are everywhere, and people are fascinated with them. Even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a Zombie Preparedness page on their website. The CDC is assuring people that if zombies did start roaming the streets, the CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak.
Back on April 11th, a new book was released for by a local writer from Rozet, about a father and daughter from Nebraska who headed to the Rocky Mountains to go hiking. Unbeknownst to the duo there was an apocalyptic orange fog that swept through the nation. Worried about their family the duo trek back to Nebraska, but that was no easy task. Quentin Rogers is the author of this page nail-biting novel.
“The novel takes place in the Big Horns, northeastern Wyoming through South Dakota where the duo are trying to get back home. There are some fictitious areas as well,” Rogers told County 17.
“I needed to tell a story that explored the strained relationship of a conservative father from the mid-west and his coming of age daughter where extreme events cause the two characters to learn that their faith in God and love for each other can overcome anything,” a quote from Quentin Rogers from his website.
This book is a good read for young adults who are into zombie-like creatures and adventure. A book signing at The House of Books in Billings is scheduled for June 9th, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
