(Gillette, Wyo.) Devils Tower is celebrating National Park Week with daily activities and free admission this weekend. The week started on the 15th of April and goes through the 23rd, with the 22nd being Earth Day.
“Come to Devils Tower, we will have two special events on Saturday, April 22nd the Black Hills Raptor Center will be here and have several of their education birds. Also, we’ll have a Night Skies presentation with a Ranger, later that night.” Said Nancy Stimson, Chief of Interpretation and Education.
Here is a list of the activities for the rest of the Nation Park Week provided by , April 19 – 23
- April 19th – 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – Meet the ranger at the kiosk in front of the visitor center.
- April 22nd and 23rd at 1:00 p.m.- Junior Ranger activities will be offered in front of the visitor center.
- April 22nd at 2:30 p.m.- The Black Hills Raptor Center in Rapid City, SD will present some of their education birds. The raptors are permanently injured, either physically or mentally. This is great photo opportunity with these magnificent birds.
- Saturday April 22, 8 p.m.- Half the park is after dark! Join the ranger for a Night Skies Presentation about Native American astronomy and the Lyrids Meteor Shower. Rangers will have telescopes available for you to view an array of constellations, planets and stars!
#FindYourPark /Encuentra Tu Parque is a community-based program that was launched back in March 2015. The program is to get public awareness, education, and inspire all backgrounds to celebrate and support America’s national parks.
