First Responders Free Child Trapped By Boulder

(Gillette, Wyo.) The Campbell County Fire Department reported today that on Tuesday, March 28th, shortly before 8 p.m., they responded to a residence on Fairway Drive for the report of a trapped child.

Fire crews arrived to find that landscaping boulders had shifted, pinning a child underneath by the chest and head. It took them 40 minutes to free the child from the rock slide.

CCFD stated that extraction was prolonged because the other landscaping rocks were unstable, and the entire operation being technically challenging. Gillette Police, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, and CCH’s EMS assisted with the extraction.

The boy was treated on scene by EMS. His name and age were not released at press time.
